In an uncommonly challenging year, the need for Common Pantry, Chicago’s oldest continually operating food pantry, to serve and innovate has never been greater. Our I Am Your Neighbor Party has always been about bringing our community together in a spirit of fun and gratitude. This year, we are excited to offer options to enjoy your party, your way. Prepare to celebrate (safely) with new twists and familiar roots as we get to know each other as neighbors, friends and common-purpose hearts. It all happens October 2.

I AM YOUR NEIGHBOR MEAL PROGRAM
The IAYN Meal Program launched in March has provided 1700 meals to our neighbors and channeled over 30K back into participating restaurants. We are so proud of this new initiative and the work RVN did to help get the program off the ground.
Common Pantry Updates
100% of programming was shifted outdoors in March. We continue to serve anyone who needs food, including an average of 85 hot lunches per week, double the monthly senior home deliveries and providing groceries (fresh fruits, veggies, dairy, meat, bread and shelf stable items) to over 2300 individuals in June alone. Our expenses for food and personal products have quadrupled. We are currently preparing our plan for winter operations to ensure we can meet demand, keep people safe from the elements and make sure our staff and volunteers can sustain the rigorous nature of our work.
